8th Cavalry, 1913.

This trooper doesn't look well. He may be a discharged soldier due to his eye injury. He wears his coat without collar insignia and unfastened at the neck. The writing on the back of the photo postcard, from G. E. Lynn (Chicago) to Mr. A. Kempten (Evanston, Ill.), admits "This is a poor picture but it will pass."
