Bugler, Michigan National Guard, with Friend, c. 1910.

This is a private of the Michigan National Guard’s 1st Infantry, Company B, stationed in Detroit. We do not know what the occasion is, but he is apparently on good enough terms with the “cowboy” to be wearing a similar pair of non-military gloves. The bugle on the soldier’s cap identifies his position within the company.
