Russian Soldiers in World War I.

Dated 1916, this photo is of a soldier whose shoulder straps show a crossed ax and anchor, signifying railway troops. Maybe it’s not an anchor, but some sort of other implement.

A soldier and family members. His shoulder straps show in Cyrillic “15Sp”, which might stand for 15th Sapper Regiment.

A good picture of the double-headed eagle on the belt buckle.

There seems to be some pride is this large amount of hay gathered on top a wooden platform.

The man in the middle, perhaps in the cavalry, has added colored shoulder straps to his sheepskin coat.

The number 20 on the shoulder straps. Note the crowns printed on the cap bands. Unfortuantely the photo is glued over the photographer’s name and location.
