Woman in borrowed uniform, c. 1916.

This is another photograph of a woman wearing someone’s Army uniform. This one is dated October 8th, 1916. In that year the entire National Guard was called up to safeguard the border with Mexico. The back reads “One of the soldiers on duty along the N.O. border.” I don‘t know what N.O. is supposed to stand for, unless it is some joke about New Orleans.
