Woman in Coast Artillery Corps Uniform, c. 1910.

This woman has borrowed her husband's or boy friend's uniform for a picture. The Coast Artillery's branch color, red, does not show well in black and white photography, but I can make out that the cap badge is crossed cannons with a three-digit company number. The photographer's address in Fall River, Massachusetts, makes is clear that we are dealing with one of the number of C.A.C. companies that formed part of the Coast Defenses of Narragansett Bay (principly, Forts Adams, Greble, and Wetherill).
