Pen Pal Postcard From the Philippines, 1913.

Apparently one of the men in the photograph is answering a penpal request from Miss Maggie Prednore in Syracuse, New York. The soldier's message reads:

"Dear Freind Kid i was glad to hear From you an Will Be Pleased to Carspond With you if you Pefur to rite a letter i Wood Be Pleased to exchange letters with you. Call again Cards 24 42. Kelley Hester 178002."

The postcard is marked May 13 1913, Corregidor, Manila Bay, P.I., but to me the jungle scene is more probably on one of the Philippine main islands rather than tiny Corregidor.
